Nordstrom Rack

Ambushed By Low Prices At The Rack

Ambushed by unbelievable prices at Nordstrom.

Nordstrom RackSAVE ON CHIC | While I am seriously involved with a website that deals with shopping topics, I am not a shopaholic. When it comes to buying clothes, I like to have a specific goal in mind, like buying a bathing suit for example, and I can usually resist pulling out my wallet for anything other than the exact item I have on my list. Where this blue steel resolve always breaks down is when I am standing on the threshold of one of my favorite deep-discount meccas, Nordstrom Rack, where the deals are usually so crazy good that I never fail to find something I wasn’t necessarily in the market for, wonder if I’ll ever use but always wind up wearing till it dissolves into a few random threads.

How To Manage A Rack Attack

Such was the case recently when dropped by Nordstrom Rack at Alderwood Mall on my way to Seattle. I was not looking for chartreuse patent leather sling-back flats with a cute scallop detail yet I found them by Nanette Lepore and they fit me perfectly. Better still, they were $30 U.S., down from $275. Same trip I also found a pair of more utilitarian Puma canvas flats: $8 U.S., down from $80. Of course I bought both pairs—and have worn them lots.

The thing about the Rack is that most of the men’s, women’s and kid’s merch is the same ready-to-wear brands you see in the regular Nordstrom department store: Elie Tahari, J Brand, William Rast, Michael Kors, Coach, Burberry, etc. And while everything is always seriously discounted, the chain also has ongoing in-store events that result in additional  jumping-without-a-chute price drops. When you are shopping in the U.S. with Canadian dollars, why wouldn’t you check out Nordstrom Rack before checking out Nordstrom proper.—C. Rule

My favorite Nordstrom Rack is at Alderwood Mall, located at 3200 184th Street SW, Lynnwood, Washington, 425-771-5755. Visit www.Nordstrom.com for current in-store events.
